The ‘UFC On FOX 8’ fight card is slowly starting to come together with the addition of a new welterweight scrap between former Strikeforce stars Robbie Lawler and Tarec Saffiedine.
Lawler made an immediate impact in his return to UFC action back in February with a first round TKO win over Josh Koscheck – a fight that also marked a move back down to 170lbs for the first time in many years.
Meanwhile, Saffiedine is now set to make his debut after claiming the distinction of being Strikeforce’s last ever welterweight champion, taking the belt from Nate Marquardt at the promotion’s last ever event in January.
Earlier it had been confirmed that another welterweight bout between Rory MacDonald and Jake Ellenberger will also go down at ‘UFC On FOX 8’ on July 27th in Seattle.
