Matt Brown picked up a big TKO win over Jordan Mein at ‘UFC On FOX 7’ tonight to extend his unbeaten run to five fights.
Mein steps in with a nice clipping elbow in the opening minute of the first round. Brown’s unphased though and attempts to get into a brawl with his younger opponent and lands solidly with a left hook that backs Mein up.
Brown’s literally chasing Mein around the cage as he tries to capitalize on that strike, but Mein’s regained his composure and survives the onslaught.
Big right hand lands for Brown, but he’s sporting a small cut to his right eye already. More pressure from Brown and he’s definitely getting the better of the fight up until this point.
Mein’s still in their and slugs with Brown against the cage. Then he starts to turn the screw with a flurry of punches himself. Mein lands a powerful shot to the body and Brown’s hurt, falling to the mat.
Mein’s on top now looking to take advantage and lands some ground and pound. Then Brown attempts a triangle choke and it looks to be in tight. Mein attempts to break free and at first it doesn’t look good for him, but he remains patient and gets out.
They reset on the feet in the final minute and Brown gets the better of a final striking exchange.
Brown lands a big right hand to start of the second round that leaves Mein with a bloodied nose. He then works for the clinch and bangs in a few hard knee to the face of his opponent that sinks him to the canvas.
Brown continuing to work hard for the finish with more strikes on the ground. Mein’s turtling up and Brown’s smashing down elbow strikes to his back and the referee jumps in to call an end to an exciting fight with one minute of the second round gone.
