When ‘UFC On FOX Sports 1’ was first announced Dana White promised, “the best television card we’ve ever done.”
Well, with the card pretty much in place now it looks like he hasn’t quite reached that lofty goal, but there’s no doubt it’s on par with the ‘UFC On FOX’ shows the promotion have put on up to this point.
The headliner for the show in Boston has now been confirmed as a light-heavyweight clash between Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua Vs Chael Sonnen, while as we’ve mentioned previously the co-main event goes to Alistair Overeem Vs Travis Browne.
A newly announced bantamweight fight between Urijah Faber and Yuri Alcantara finds it’s way onto the main card alongside the already confirmed Thiago Alves Vs Matt Brown encounter.
Also unveiled yesterday was a potentially explosive preliminary scrap in the same division between Brad Pickett and Michael McDonald.
‘UFC On FOX Sports 1’ airs during the new channel’s opening night on August 17th.
