Mark Munoz Vs Tim Boetsch Moves To UFC 162 Main Card After Ricardo Lamas Is Withdrawn

Due to Chang Sung Jung, AKA ‘The Korean Zombie’ being drafted in to fight Jose Aldo at UFC 163, his original opponent Ricardo Lamas has now been withdrawn from UFC 162’s main card.

Lamas will be paid his show money even though he won’t fight on the card and he’ll now be hoping that following a four-fight winning streak at 145lbs that he’ll now be considered the new No.1 contender to fight the winner of Aldo Vs TKZ.

As a result of this change a middleweight encounter between Mark Munoz and Tim Boetsch has now been promoted to  main card status.

To be honest I’m quite surprised that Munoz Vs Boetsch wasn’t already on the main card, and this certainly ensures that the pay-per-view portion of the show, which will be headlined by a middleweight title fight between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman, hasn’t been weakened from the fans perspective.
