Anthony Perosh defeats Vinny Magalhaes by KO at 0.14mins of Rd1.
wow, Perosh finished this one quick! The first punch of the fight was a right hand from Perosh and Magalhaes walked straight into it and dropped to the canvas. Perosh started raining down blows and Magalhaes looked to be in a daze. The referee gave him plenty of time, but more unanswered blows followed and Perosh gets a big KO victory in just 14 seconds!
Amanda Nunes defeats Sheila Gaff by TKO at 2.08mins of Rd1
Nunes made short work of her opponent here. Gaff came out aggressively as expected, but somewhat surprisingly looked to take Nunes down. However, it quickly became apparent that it was Nunes who was slicker on the mat. After getting back upright it was the Brazilian who then secured a takedown up against the cage and was able to move relatively easily into full mount from there, but Gaff showed her strength by managing to stand back up from the position. Not for long though as Nunes promptly took her back to the mat and then started to land some hard elbow strikes to the head that quickly took the wind right out of Gaff’s sails and resulted in the referee’s stoppage.
Sergio Moraes defeats Neil Magny by submission (triangle choke) at 3.13mins of Rd1
Moraes looked to strike early with Magny, then delivered a nice trip takedown from the clinch. Once on the mat he was in complete control, smoothly passing Magny’s guard until he was in full mount. From there he wasted no time in setting up a triangle choke and started landing some solid elbows to his opponent from his back. Magny was struggling to defend himself and Moraes rolled on top again and the pressure from the choke forced Magny to tap.
Ian McCall defeats Iliarde Santos by unanimous decision (30-27 x2, 29-28)
McCall showed superior speed and movement throughout his fight with Santos to earn the decision victory, showing nice combinations of punches at times and plenty of leg kicks. The hard-hitting Santos did manage to tempt him into more of a brawling style at one point in the second round and that’s the only time McCall came off second best as the Brazilian started to find a home for some solid punches. McCall regrouped though, got back to being a more elusive target and secured a decision victory.
Rani Yahya defeats Josh Clopton by unanimous decision (29-28 x3)
In the first two rounds of this fight it was pretty much all Yahya as he completely controlled Clopton on the mat. In the third, Clopton found himself on top early, but was pretty much completely shut down by Yahya’s guard and so he opted to stand back up. Yahya was happy to pull guard and make something happen from his back, and by the end of the round he was on top again and crusing to victory.
Francimar Barroso defeats Ednaldo Oliveira by unanimous decision (30-27 x2, 29-28)
Barroso definitely got the better of this one against Oliveira who never quite got going. In the first round Barroso maintained his distance well against his much rangier opponent, picking his moments to land good kicks to the body and legs. In the second Oliveira had his best spell, catching a kick and taking Barosso to the mat. From their he started to land some good ground and pound, but puzzlingly then opted to let him back up. Barroso then did a good job of getting back in control with some solid offensive striking, appearing to hurt Oliveira a couple of times with punches. In the third both men looked tired, but Barosso was able to secure a couple of takedowns to ensure the judges decision was going to go in his favor.
Viscardi Andrade defeats Bristol Marunde by TKO at 1.36mins of Rd1
Andrade makes short work of Marunde here, first dropping him with a left followed up by a right, then catching him with a flush left hook as he tried to get back up. Marunde wasn’t completely out, but was clearly badly hurt and so the referee called an end to the fight.
