Erick Silva is expected to face Dong Hyun Kim at UFC Fight Night 29 on October 9th according to the fighter’s coach Josuel Distak.
Silva is one of the most promising young talents in the UFC at this moment in time, but this is a very tough test for him against a seasoned veteran in Kim who has the kind of style that may just be his Achilles Heel.
While Silva has looked a dominant force in most of his Octagon outings so far, he did find himself shut down by Jon Fitch’s wrestle-heavy approach back in October of last year and that’s exactly the kind of strategy that Kim is likely to employ against him too.
Kim has a 9-2 record in the UFC to date and is currently looking for his third victory in a row at welterweight as he attempts to continue to climb into the top 10 rankings in the division.
UFC Fight Night 29 will take place in Brazil and it’s anticipated it’ll air on FOX Sports 1 with a light-heavyweight bout between Thiago Silva and Matt Hamill headlining the show.
