Lightweight champion Anthony Pettis may be out of action for much of 2014 due to knee surgery, but his younger brother Sergio Pettis now has his next fight lined up for early in the coming year.
Pettis will take on Alex ‘Bruce Leeroy’ Caceres at UFC On FOX 10 which takes place in Chicago on January 25th.
The 20 year-old Pettis made a successful start to his UFC career back in November, claiming a unanimous decision victory over Will Campuzano, taking his professional record to date to a perfect 10-0.
Campuzano wasn’t exactly an easy first fight for him, and it seems the UFC are continuing to test him with this latest match-up as the crafty Caceres is no slouch.
In fact, Caceres is unbeaten in his last four fights, though his second to last victory was overturned to a ‘no contest’ ruling after he tested positive for marijuana.
Pettis Vs Caceres is expected to take place on the preliminary card of the next FOX show, which will be headlined by a lightweight enounter featuring former champ Ben Henderson going up against Josh Thomson.
