Ryan Bader’s next fight will come against former Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion Rafael ‘Feijao’ Cavalcante at UFC 174 on June 14th in Vancouver, Canada.
Bader is coming off a unanimous decision victory against Anthony Perosh in December that got him back to winning ways after a TKO loss to current title challenger Glover Teixeira, and that’s left him placed at No.9 on the official light-heavyweight rankings.
‘Feijao’ made his UFC debut back In November with a first round stoppage victory against Igor Pokrajac that pegged him at No.12 on the 205lb ladder.
He was originally rumored to be getting a fight with another former Strikeforce fighter Daniel Cormier next, but that seemed like an odd choice and a fight with Bader makes more sense for him at this stage.
Bader Vs ‘Feijao’ will take a main card spot on the UFC 174 line-up which is headlined by a flyweight title fight featuring current champion Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson taking on Ali Bagautinov.
Rory MacDonald Vs Tyron Woodleyr takes the co-main event spot for this one, with the rest of the main card still to be established at this stage.
