This Saturday night (September 27, 2014) UFC 178 will go down from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Loaded with several top-level bouts, the card has serious potential to shake up many of the top divisions in the UFC.

The upper echelons of the flyweight, lightweight, featherweight, middleweight, and women’s bantamweight divisions all have much at stake this weekend, making UFC 178 the most pivotal pay-per-view (PPV) card of the year thus far.

It’s a time-honored (and some would say overused) cliché that one event can shake up the UFC so much, but in this case it holds true. Let’s examine how UFC 178 could impact upon the sport of MMA in a big way.
