The first episode of Chael Sonnen’s new ‘You’re Welcome!’ podcast aired yesterday on the PodcastOne network and you can listen to it in full below.
Sonnen was joined by Ariel Helwani for his debut show and openly discussed the drug test failures that lead to him hanging up his gloves earlier this year, taking full ownership for his actions.
“People were saying, ‘why won’t he say he’s sorry?’ I’m not,” Sonnen said. “I’m not going to apologize because I’m not sorry. I’m a consenting adult. I knew exactly what I was doing. This was a premeditated decision.”
He went on to discuss his way of thinking regarding his use of performance enhancing drugs before concluding that, “If you’re going to try to get away with something, if you’re beat, you’re beat, There’s nothing more to it, there’s nothing more to the story. I took something, I was caught, I got tarnished and that’s it.”
