Due to his current contract dispute with Bellator, details of Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson’s lucrative deal with the promotion have been revealed.
Take a look at the key details from the deal below.
– An initial signing bonus of $100,000 along with a Tesla Sport car worth $129,603.
– Non-PPV fight salary: $200,000-$300,000 / PPV salary: %200,000-$450,000.
– An additional $50,000 to be added if ‘Rampage’s’ sponsorship money didn’t reach a certain level.
– 30% of gate receipts over $400,000 for events he fought in.
– $4 for every pay-per-view over 190,000 buys. While ‘Rampage’s’ only PPV appearance during his contract to date didn’t reach that amount Bellator still ended up paying him a $200,000 bonus.
– $35,000 per episode of his ‘Rampage 4 Real’ series on Spike TV which was scheduled to run for four episodes.
– Bellator would employ a screenwriter to work with ‘Rampage’ to produce a potential movie script. In additional they were also to provide him direct access to Paramount Pictures to seek out potential movie opportunities for him.
– ‘Rampage’ was given the opportunity to walk the red carpet at the 2013 MTV music awards.
– In addition to these perks received by the fighter, additional money was forked out by the company to help promote ‘Rampage’ including $200,000 to secure the rights to a Rolling Stones track to be used in promoting him and $250,000 on an ESPN ad to promote one of his fights.
All in all it seems that ‘Rampage’ was being handsomely rewarded for his time in the Bellator cage, but yet the fighter himself became unsettled and claimed the promotion were in breach of their contract which resulted in him jumping ship to go back to the UFC.
Both sides believe that the other is in breach of their contract and Bellator are currently seeking an injunction to prevent ‘Rampage’ from fighting Fabio Maldonado at UFC 186 on April 25th. A hearing is expected to take place on April 2nd.
