Following last night’s UFC On FOX 16 event Dana White spoke about some of the big talking points of the night.

– White was impressed by Joe Lauzon’s performance, saying that “Gomi is tough, but Joe made it look easy.”
He also felt Lauzon made the right call to get up and walk away from Gomi rather than continue to beat him up. White says he usually commends referee Herb Dean, but on this occasion he felt he didn’t stop either this fight or the main event soon enough.
– The UFC president though the Edson Barboza Vs Paul Felder fight was an awesome, technical battle. “I saw stuff tonight I’ve never seen, so it was a great fight. Fight of the night.” He thought it was a close fight and believes that even in defeat Felder will grow from that performance.
– White thought Jessica Eye was getting the better of Miesha Tate early in their co-main event fight. However, he goes on to praise Tate’s toughness, saying, “She’s got a rock-solid chin, she’s tough as nails and she believes in it and she just doesn’t care, she’ll just keep coming forward until she lands what she wants to land, or until she gets it to the ground. It was a typical Miesha Tate fight and I thought she showed again how tough and absolutely durable she is.”
– It’s now confirmed officially that Tate will now go on to fight fot the title against the winner of Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia which takes place at UFC 190 next weekend.
– White wasn’t impressed with Renan Barao in his last fight, but though he looked “damn good” last night. The catch was that TJ Dillashaw looked even better. He praised the champion for fighting, “a beautiful fight.” He notes that Dillashaw didn’t move around as much as he did in their first encounter, instead opting to stay in the pocket and exchange more.
– He was non-committal on who Dillashaw would face next, acknowledging that both Dominick Cruz and Raphael Assuncao are, “always injured.”
– White’s looking forward to UFC 190 next week in Brazil and states his belief that the main event encounter between Rousey and Correia is, “going to be a lot better than people expect.”
He’s also interested to see who the Brazilian public are rooting for on the night since Rousey got “an incredible reception” when she flew in there for a pre-fight press conference.
