The UFC have announced that the TUF 22 Finale will take place on Friday, December 11th in Las Vegas – just one day before the blockbuster UFC 194 pay-per-view event.
Two fights have also been announced for the show, the first being a lightweight fight between Joe Lauzon and Evan Dunham.
Lauzon is coming off a first round TKO victory over Takanori Gomi last month and his 3-1 in his last four Octagon outings, while Dunham has compiled back-to-back wins so far in 2015, but lost three straight prior to that.
Also confirmed for the show is a welterweight tussle between Ryan LaFlare and Mike Pierce.
LaFlare’s 10 fight unbeaten start to his MMA career ended with a unanimous decision loss to Demain Maia earlier on in the year, while Pierce is returning after two years out with his last bout being a controversial heel hook submission loss against the notorious Rousimar Palhares which brought an abrupt end to his four-fight winning streak.
It’s believed that the main event of the TUF 22 Finale card will be announced at a later date. Whatever that happens to be it’s still going to end up being overshadowed by the UFC 194 event the very next day which will feature the much hyped featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor, plus a middleweight title showdown featuring Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold in the co-main event.
