A heavyweight fight between Stefan Struve and Jared Rosholt has been booked for UFC 193 in Australia on November 15th.
Struve picked up a decision win over grizzled veteran Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 190 earlier this month, though it wasn’t a particularly impressive performance. Prior to that ‘Skyscraper’ had lost to both Mark Hunt and Alistair Overeem as well as battling with a potentially career threatening heart condition which thankfully appears to now be under control.
Rosholt is currently on a two-fight winning run and the wrestler has grinded his way to a 5-1 record so far in the Octagon with his biggest win so far coming against Soa Palelei last year.
So this will be a step up in competition for Rosholt and a win would more than likely propel him into the UFC’s heavyweight top 15 rankings.
UFC 193 will mark the promotion’s first visit to Melbourne and will take place at the Etihad stadium with hopes of filling it with up to 70,000 fans which would break their current attendance record of 55,724 set at UFC 129 in Canada back in 2011.
Struve Vs Rosholt is expected to feature on the main card which will be headlined by a welterweight title fight between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit with a rematch between Mark Hunt and Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva in the co-main event alongside Michael Bisping Vs Robert Whittaker.
