Fresh from making it all the way to the runner-up spot on ‘Dancing With The Stars’, UFC woman’s strawweight fighter Paige VanZant will return to the Octagon against Bec Rawlings at UFC On FOX 21 in Vancouver, Canada on August 27th.
Still only 22 years old, PVZ’s star power has risen significantly thanks to her appearance on the dance show, as evidenced by the fact that she actually appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter today to announce who she’d be fighting.
Despite her popularity, VanZant is actually coming off a loss to Rose Namajunas in the main event of UFC Fight Night 80 in December of last year. However, prior to that she had won three fights in a row in the promotion against the likes of Kailin Curran, Felice Herrig and Alex Chambers.
The 27 year-old Rawlings started off her UFC run with a loss, but has since rebounded with two wins in a row against Lisa Ellis and Seo Hee Ham, though that’s not been enough to earn her a place on the 115lb rankings yet.
PVZ Vs Rawlings joins a UFC On FOX 21 card that only has one other major fight attached to it so far, with Anthony Pettis set to make his featherweight debut against Charles ‘Do Bronx’ Oliveira that night.
