Tim Kennedy has offered a revealing look at just how creepy and intrusive USADA’s random anti-doping tests can be for UFC fighters.
The mandatory testing for all UFC fighters requires them to let USADA know where they are going to be at all times, enabling them to show up unannounced at a time of their choosing to undergo testing.
Needless to say this can lead to some rather awkward situations, such as the one Kennedy detailed during an interview this week.
“Last time I got tested, like a week ago, this guy came into my house and I’d just came back from a workout,” Kennedy told Donald Cerrone on his BMF Ranch podcast. “He was like, ‘We can’t take blood for an hour,’ and I was like, ‘Well, I just got done with a workout. Can I take a shower?’ He said he had to visually keep his eyes on me the whole time so I was like, ‘Well, I’m taking a shower,’ I walked into my bathroom, took my clothes off and he walked into the bathroom with me and watched me shower.
“He was like, ‘Are you serious?’ So I said, ‘Shall I rinse again? Shall I use more soap? Are my balls clean?’ He 100 percent watched me. I’m not going to sit there dirty after practice.”
When he’s not being ogled by USADA employees, Kennedy is busy preparing for his next fight at UFC 205 next month, where he’ll welcome former light-heavyweight champion Rashad Evans to the middleweight division on the preliminary card of the stacked show at Madison Square Garden.
