Jessica Andrade Beats Up Angela Hill For 15 Minutes At UFC Fight Night 104

Jessica Andrade landed an incredible amount of punches against a game Angela Hill tonight at UFC Fight Night 104, but had to settle for a convincing unanimous decision victory.

Round One:

Andrade with a jab to start as she works on the outside. Kick from Andrade and one from Hill in return. Another jab for Hill and then a kick upstairs that’s blocked – then another.

Suddenly Andrade comes charging forward with a flurry of punches that backs up Hill. Hill finds Andrade’s chin with a punch.

Andrade barrels forward again with more punches that backs Hill up, though she lands a nice counter hook in there. More offense from Andrade as she sticks to her traditionally aggressive style.

Hill with a nice knee as Andrade continues to wade forward. Andrade hammering away with shots to the body and head against the cage. Hill gets away, but it’s not longe before Andrade again backs her up and again launches a series of bombs upstairs and to the bread-basket.

Hill gets off the cage and finds a little space to work front kicks to the body. Andrade closes the distance and works more blistering punches that back up Hill.

It’s not longe before there’s more of the same. Andrade is continually putting Hill on the defensive against the cage due to her relentless offense. She does land a nice knee upstairs in the closing seconds of the round, but then gets peppered with more shots. Andrade working really well to the body in particular in that first round.

Round Two:

Nice hook for Andrade as Hill comes into range. She lands a leg kick. Another one lands low but the hook behind it misses. Hill with a leg kick and a jab now.

Another jab for Hill and then comes the inevitable flurry of punches from Andrade. Hill lands a knee that opens up a cut to Andrade’s cheek.

Andrade clinches and lands a couple of knees and then goes back to launching punches that back Hill up across the cage. A couple of big shots in there from the Brazilian as Hill does her best to avoid the offense.

Another flurry, another few big connections from Andrade. Hill still looking relatively fresh, but she’s eating a lot of shots here to the body and head.

Lefts and rights connect to the face of Hill. Again she’s backed up to the cage, but this time Andrade does well to change up her gameplan with a takedown attempt and brings Hill to the mat.

She moves to Hill’s back as her opponent turtles up and then uses the cage to stand back up. Andrade just hoists her up on her shoulder and dumps her back to the mat though in the final seconds of the round.

Round Three:

Andrade stalking Hill again. Hill working the occasional jab and kick to keep distance. Andrade comes in with a barrage of left and right hooks, but Hill bites down on her gumshield and returns fire with the same punches in return, and even a kick in their. Andrade’s punches were harder, but credit to Hill for her fighting spirit.

Big left hook lands for Andrade and that noticeably hurt Hill. A few seconds later Andrade lands to the same spot.

Andrade with more big shots that seem to be waring Hill down now. Having said that, suddenly a punch from Hill drops Andrade, though she’s right back up to her feet.

More big punches and a knee hurts Hill again, but she sucks it up and keeps going. That’s an extremely tough lady. She eats another big hook.

For the umpteenth time in the fight Andrade assaults Hill’s body and head against the cage. Hill lands a nice counter. She’s done that a few times over the course of this fight, but it’s just not enough when compared to the massive amount of strikes Andrade has landed.

Final seconds of the fight now and Andrade wades in one last time with a series of right hands and then alternating between them as she’s done so often in this fifteen minute encounter.

Decision:

No doubt about the winner here, with Andrade’s aggressive style and seemingly endless cardio being too much for the durable, well conditioned Hill, leading to unanimous decision verdict (30-27 x3).
