Formerly known as World Series Of Fighting, the newly rebranded Professional Fighters League organization got the ball rolling with their debut event last night in Daytona Beach, Florida and we’ve got all the results below.
In the main event of the evening, Jon Fitch and Brian Foster engaged in a competitive battle in which they both had time to shine.
In fact, Foster came close to stopping Fitch early in the second round after rocking the former UFC fighter with a right hand that sent him to his knees.
Foster moved in and attempted a choke, but Fitch was able to survive and get back to his feet. However, Foster wasn’t finished yet and landed a couple of uppercuts that put the veteran down again.
Fitch continued to demonstrate his heart and determination though and as they stood back up he partially connected with a right hook to the temple that stunned Foster and saw him drop to a turtled up position on the mat.
Fitch pounced on that opportunity and then applied a rare ninja choke to force the tap out with 3.12mins of the second round gone.
The other three fights on the card all ended on the scorecards, with Ronny Markes, Herman Terrado and Jason High all emerging victorious in their PFL debuts.
