The promotional hype train for the boxing mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is set to go into overdrive later this month when the first official press conference takes place in the UK.
According to The Sun newspaper, Wembley Stadium in London will be the venue for the first presser, with a stage set to be erected at one end of the pitch and room for 10,000 fans to be in attendance as the two superstars come face-to-face for the first time.
There isn’t an exact date for the must-see media gathering, with an official only revealing to the newspaper that it would be, “in two weeks time.”
This is expected to be the first stop in a whirlwind world tour and is sure to generate a massive amount of interest in the eventual clash in the boxing ring on August 26th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Some pundits are predicting that the fight could prove to be the biggest pay-per-view of all-time, beating out Mayweather’s 2015 fight with Manny Pacquiao, which was purchased by a staggering 4.6 million viewers.
Negotiations for that ‘Fight Of The Century’ had dragged on for years, but all things considered all the parties have struck while the iron is hot with regards to Mayweather Vs McGregor, and combining both the MMA and boxing vast fanbases around the globe, together with a huge amount of casual interest will undoubtedly make this a sporting spectacle for the ages.
