A heavyweight fight between Andrei Arlovski and Junior Albini has been officially announced for UFC Fight Night 120 on November 11th in Virginia.
The 38-year-old Arlovski will be fighting for his future in the UFC heavyweight roster in this match-up after enduring a rough time of it in the Octagon over the past year and a half in which he’s lost five times in a row.
In all fairness, most of those losses were against the top names in the division like Stipe Miocic, Alistair Overeem, Josh Barnett and Francis Ngannou, but even a fight with Marcin Tybura back in June ended with the former champion coming out on the wrong end of a unanimous decision verdict.
Now the UFC has paired him up with the Brazilian ‘Baby’ Albini, a 26-year-old who made a successful start to his time in the Octagon last month when he earned a first round TKO victory over Timothy Johnson.
That took Albini’s career record to 14-2 and earned him a spot at No.12 in the heavyweight rankings, just one place behind Arlovski.
Arlovski Vs Albini joins a UFC Fight Night 120 card that is expected to be headlined by lightweight action between former champion Anthony Pettis and Dustin Porier, while Matt Brown will fight Diego Sanchez and Angela Hill takes on Nina Ansaroff.
