A women’s strawweight fight between Michelle Waterson and Tecia Torres has been announced for UFC 218 in Detroit on December 2nd.
The 31-year-old Waterson missed out on a title shot last time out in the Octagon when she succumbed to a rear-naked choke in the second round against Rose Namajunas at UFC On FOX 24.
That ended ‘The Karate Hottie’s’ two-fight winning streak since joining the UFC from Invicta FC in 2015, pushing her back to No.6 in the divisional rankings.
That’s one place below the 28-year-old Torres, who is coming off victories over Bec Rawling and Julianna Lima in 2017 so far.
In total, Torres has put together a 5-1 run in the UFC to date, with the only loss of her 10 fight career having coming against the current title challenger Namajunas in April of last year.
