Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson will remain a Bellator fighter after signing a new contract with the promotion this week.
The 39-year-old star announced the news yesterday and is now expected to get back into the cage in 2018.
“I am excited for this new beginning and looking forward to an action packed 2018,” Jackson said in a Bellator press release. “I can’t wait to get back in the cage and put on exciting fights for both the Rampage and Bellator fans.”
Bellator CEO Scott Coker was also happy to announce the deal.
“With Rampage Jackson, you know what you’re going to get every time he steps inside the Bellator cage – an exciting fight and interest from fans all over the world,” Coker said. “I knew that keeping Rampage with Bellator was integral to our continued growth as a promotion and I’m pleased that we were able to come to an agreement that allows us to plan some great future matchups for him.”
‘Rampage’ last fought in March of this year, losing out by unanimous decision in a heavyweight rematch with Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal.
Prior to that, Jackson had been on a five-fight winning streak – four of those coming in Bellator and one in the UFC.
