‘Super’ Sage Northcutt will return to action against Thibault Gouti at UFC Fight Night 126 on Sunday, February 18th in Austin, Texas.
The 21-year-old Northcutt returned to the lightweight division last month and picked up a unanimous decision win over Michel QuiƱones at UFC Fight Night 120.
Prior to that Northcutt had suffered a submission loss against fellow ‘Dana White: Lookin’ For A Fight’ prospect Mickey Gall at 170lbs, but overall he’s put together a 4-2 run in the UFC to date, despite being one of the youngest fighters on the roster.
Now he faces 30-year-old French fighter Gouti, who TKO’d Andrew Holbrook last time out at UFC Fight Night 115 in September.
That had been a must-win bout for Gouti as he was on the verge of being released from the UFC at the time after having lost his first three bouts in a row inside the Octagon against Teemu Packalen, Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Chad Laprise.
UFC Fight Night 126’s line-up is still in the process of being filled out, so Northcutt Vs Gouti is one of only a few bouts that have so far been earmarked for the show in Texas, alongside Derrick Lewis Vs Marcin Tybura and Ray Borg Vs Brandon Moreno.
