Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 124 event in St. Louis the recipients of the evening’s fighter bonus awards were announced.
Earning ‘Fight Of THe Night’ honors was the main event battle between Jeremy Stephens and Doo Ho Choi.
Both men had their moments in the striking exchanges, with Choi landing some crisp punches and even a front kick to the face, but then Stephens stepped things up in the second round and floored ‘The Korean Superboy’ with a big right hook and then sealed the deal with ground and pound to claim a TKO victory.
Earlier, Darren Elkins earning a ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus in the main card opener after surviving a tough first round against Michael Johnson, who was consistently outstriking him on the feet and stuffing his takedown attempts.
However, as always ‘The Damage’ took it on the chin and then in the second round did manage to get an early takedown and then made Johnson pay by getting to his back and sinking in a fight-ending rear-naked choke submission.
Marco Polo Reyes also won a ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus after quickly putting Matt Frevola to the sword in the prelims.
In one of the opening exchanges Reyes knocked out Frevola’s mouthpiece with a punch and then dropped him, while he dished out more punishment when they got back upright, landing a clean right hand that knocked him out with just 60 seconds on the clock.
