Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza defeated Derek Brunson for the second time in his career tonight at UFC On FOX 27, with a big head kick being the beginning of the end for his opponent.
Round One:
The main event of the evening is underway in North Carolina.
Leg kick for Brunson. Jacare looking for a body kick. Brunson flicks out a front kick to the midsection. Jacare likewise as they both look to keep the fight at range for now.
Brunson with a few punches that come up a bit short. Now he throws a kick and punches behind it. Another short flurry of straight punches from Brunson as he looks to break through Jacare’s guard.
Jacare misses with a kick and lands a right hand. Brunson tries for punches and Jacare attempts a takedown in response that’s blocked, though Brunson stumbles backwards. He rights himself and launches a flying knee to the body.
Jacare with a right hand that lands. Suddenly Jacare unleashes a right head kick and it sends Brunson reeling across the octagon with his legs giving out under him.
Jacare pursues and starts blasting away with punches as Brunson attempts to right himself against the cage. The referee has seen enough and he steps in to call an end to the fight with 3.50mins on the clock, giving ‘Jacare’ a big TKO win to bring him back to winning ways in style.
