In the main event of the evening we find a relatively short notice heavyweight title fight as Daniel Cormier defends the belt for the first time against the hard-hitting Derrick Lewis, who comes in just a month after a KO victory against Alexander Volkov.
Meanwhile, former middleweight champion Chris Weidman was originally scheduled to rematch Luke Rockhold in the co-main event, but after he pulled out injured, Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza stepped in as a late replacement instead.
David Branch was supposed to fight ‘Jacare’, but now he welcomes Jared Cannonier to the middleweight ranks instead, while Jack Marshman fights Karl Roberson.
In the main card opener, the undefeated 14-0 Israel Adesanya looks to keep his impressive streak going against Derek Brunson, who is coming off a loss to ‘Jacare’.
