Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 148 event the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
Earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was a preliminary card fight between Bryce Mitchell and Bobby Moffett that saw both fighters have their moments, before Mitchell ultimately secured a unanimous decision victory (29-28 x3).
There was never any doubt that Anthony Pettis was going to earn a ‘Performance Of The Night’ after his spectacular highlight reel knockout finish against Stephen Thompson.
‘Wonderboy’ had actually got the better of the striking action up until late in the second round when Pettis rebounded off the cage after an attack and immediately launched into a superman punch that felled Thompson, with two brutal punches on the mat sealing the stunning stoppage win.
Also earning a ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus was Randa Markos who managed to get Angela Hill to the mat early in their fight. Initially she tried to go for a rear-naked choke, but then switched to an armbar and secured a submission victory.
