Nikita Krylov avenged an old submission loss to Ovince Saint Preux tonight at UFC 236 by finishing him with a submission of his own.
Round One:
Body kick for KRylov to start and then a leg kick. Now punches to the head. Back to the leg kick. Another kick, punches and a front kick to the body.
However, OSP then finally comes to life with a takedown near the cage. Krylov trying to stand and after a bit of a struggle manages to do just that, but Saint Preux is immediately in on his legs against the cage looking for another takedown.
OSP gets Krylov down, but he pops straight back up. Krylov looking for a standing guillotine choke. He manages to press OSP to the cage while going for the choke, but his opponent breaks free.
OSP with a nice trip takedown, but Krylov is quickly back up as the gruelling clinch work against the cage continues. Krylov scoots around and goes for a takedown, but OSP has the whizzer and manages to use that to end up on top on the mat.
OSP in half guard now and then manages to secure full mount. OSP loses the position however and Krylov is able to get up.
Krylov already on the attack and starts landing multiple punches. OSP looking quite tired here now as Krylov goes to work. Krylov working against the cage now.
Body punches by Krylov towards the end of the round and then just whiffs on a head kick.
Round Two:
OSP burned through a lot of his cardio in that opening round and looks tired coming into the second. Krylov still fresh though and after a kick from OSP he fires back with several of his own and punches.
OSP’s had enough of that and goes into the clinch, then tries for the takedown. Krylov doing well to stay upright though and then works a takedown of his own.
Krylov immediately takes full mount and then gets to his back. Elbow strikes to the head from Krylov then sinks in the rear-naked choke.
At first it’s not quite under the chin, but then he gets it where he wants it and OSP quickly taps out after that at 2.30mins of Rd2.
