Mike Perry emerged victorious against Alex Oliveira tonight at UFC Fight Night 150 in Florida.
Round One:
Oliveira goes for the spinning attack to start the fight. He chops Perry’s leg. Perry coming forward and they meet in the center with Perry landing a punch as they clinch. They jockey for position against the cage. Oliveira jumps into a knee to the body before they break free.
Leg kick for Oliveira and then Perry closes the distance, but it’s Oliveira who ends up working a takedown attempt. He hoists Perry upright and almost lands the takedown, but doesn’t quite get it fully.
He remains pressing Perry up against the cage though, but not for long. Back to the center of the Octagon they go and Oliveira lands another leg kick.
Big right hand for Oliveira. Leg kick for Perry. Jab for Oliveira and then a hard right behind it. Another punch lands. Now a spinning kick that misses. Punches land for ‘Cowboy’ as he moves into the clinch and Perry has a bloodied face.
They break apart with Perry landing an elbow strike. Right hook for both men land. Right hand, left and then another right for Oliveira and Perry didn’t like that.
Front kick to the body from Oliveira. Perry into the clinch and landed a big knee upstairs there. Leg kick for him now as Oliveira returns to the center of the Octagon.
Right hand for Perry and Oliveira tries for a spinning backfist that doesn’t land. Perry tees off with a series of strikes against the cage as Oliveira covers up.
Round Two:
Three-piece hook combo from Oliveira to start the second. Perry just misses with a head kick attempt. oliveira light on his feet and then lands an uppercut.
Hard front kick to the body from Oliveia and then wades in with punches. However, he then gets caught with a hook and it drops him. Perry not willing to tangle in Oliveira’s guard though and so he’s able to stand back up.
Hook lands for Perry. Leg kick for Oliveira. Perry hoists Oliveira into the air and slams him down. Oliveira gets back up and charges towards Oliveira.
left hook from Perry just coming up short. Leg kicks for Cowboy. Olbique kick for Oliveira. Hook kick attempt from Oliveira misses.
Right hand lands for Perry and he pushes straight into a takedown and lands it. Half guard for Perry with 90 seconds to go in the round.
Hard left hands from Perry now to the head of Oliveira. Cowboy working over to the cage, but then Perry starts hammering him with more left hands.
Oliveira up now, but not before eating a knee to the body. Oliveira looks for a kick, but appears to hurt his right foot in the process and hobbles on it afterwards. Apparently it was a toe disclocation. Luckily for him the round is almost over and so he survives for now.
Round Three:
Leg kick for Perry. Body kick for Oliveira. Knee to the body from Oliveira. Body punch and a hand upstairs from Perry. leg kick for Oliveira. Right hand flashes out from Perry.
Superman punch of the cage from Oliveira. Leg kick for Perry. Glancing right hook from Oliveira. Jab for Perry. left hook from Oliveira. Hard hook for Perry seems to hurt Oliveira, but he recovers.
Two punches land hard for Perry and Oliveira is hurt again. Perry tees off against the cage and Oliveira has to run away to get out from that barrage.
Hard left hand connects for Oliveira now. Superman punch for him too. leg kick for Oliveira. Left hook for Oliveira. Low leg kick and then tries a spinning backfist, but misses and falls to the mat in the final seconds.
Decision:
Hard fought fight here and the judges are unanimous in their decision that Perry is the winner (29-28 x3).
