UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo apparently wants a tune-up fight and believes that former 135lb titleholder Dominick Cruz fits the bill.
Cejudo is coming off shoulder surgery, while the injury-jinxed Cruz has been out for two years battling his own ailments, and so the double champ seems to think that a fight between them would be easy work for him.
“Anyways, kids, I’ve been thinking,” Cejudo wrote on Instagram alongside a video post. “Daddy’s been having really tough fights lately. This past year-and-a-half, he’s fought Demetrious Johnson, the greatest of all time, beat him. T.J. Dillashaw, the greatest bantamweight of all time, beat him. Beat the killer in Marlon Moraes. Daddy wants an easy fight, kids. I want somebody that I can break. I want somebody brittle. I want somebody easy. In wrestling we call them pud whackers, a fish, or better yet, how about a tune-up fight? Dominick Cruz, I have a message for you. I don’t know how you can say you’re the best in the world, when you’re not even the best at the state of Arizona. Dominick Cruz, you can do me a favor, and you can bend a knee to ‘Triple C,’ too. And one last thing: Wash your filthy dog.”
