Zabit Magomedsharipov recently had to pull out of his fight with Calvin Kattar at UFC On ESPN 6 in Boston on October 18th, but the good news is that fans won’t have to wait much longer to see the match-up take place.
The fight will now be pushed back just a few weeks, enabling it to take place in Magomedsharipov’s own homeland at UFC Fight Night 163 in Moscow, Russia on November 9th.
The 28-year-old ‘ZaBeast’ has been a revelation in the UFC’s featherweight division since joining the promotion a couple of years ago, having won five fights in a row since then to extend his career record to 17-1.
Along the way Magomedsharipov claimed 2018’s submission of the year with a rarely seen Suloev Stretch against Brandon Davis, while his first fight this year saw him earn a unanimous decision victory over Jeremy Stephens.
As for Kattar, he’s registered wins over the likes of Andre Fili and Ricardo Lamas during his 4-1 stint in the UFC, and with an overall 20-3 record he will be hoping that a win over ZaBeast will propel him into the 145lb’s top 10.
Magomedsharipov vs. Kattar joins a UFC Fight Night 163 card that will be headlined by a heavyweight main event between Junior dos Santos and Alexander Volkov.
