Michelle Waterson and Angela Hill are all set to compete at UFC Fight Night 177 on August 22nd at a location that is still to be confirmed, but is likely to be headed to the promotion’s own APEX facility in Las Vegas.
Though she was eyeing title contention not so long ago, ‘The Karate Hottie’ has since lost two fights in a row, starting with a unanimous decision defeat against former champ Joanna Jedrzekczyk back in October of last year, followed by a split decision loss to Carla Esparza last month.
The 34-year-old Waterson still remains at No.8 in the strawweight rankings heading into this fight though, while her opponent, the 33-year-old Hill, is currently placed at No.13.
Hill has been one of the UFC’s most active fighters so far in 2020, having fought three times already, starting with victories over Hannah Cifers and Loma Lookboonme in the space of a month earlier in the year, before losing out by split decision to Claudia Gadelha in May.
Waterson vs. Hill joins a UFC Fight Night 177 card that is also expected to feature a middleweight fight between recent title contender Yoel Romero and Uriah Hall.
