Alessio Di Chirico gave Joaquin Buckley a taste of his own medicine at UFC On ABC 1 today courtesy of a first round head kick KO finish.
Round One:
Front kick to the body from Di Chirico. He works an upkick then one to the inside leg. Buckley steps forward and flashes out his left hand.
Nice right hand counter from Di Chirico. Now another leg kick. Leg kick for Buckley now. He pumps out the jab.
Body punch from Buckle. Knee to the body from Di Chirico. Di Chirico with a head kick and it catches Buckley clean to the temple and sends him folding awkwardly to the mat in the center of the Octagon, with follow-up hammerfists sealing a huge KO win for Di Chirico at 2.12mins of the opening round!
Di Chirico desperately needed that win after three losses in a row, so well done to him, but what a disappointment for Buckley, who was riding the hype train into this fight as one of Dana White’s ‘Fighter’s To Watch’ in 2021 courtesy of his spectacular viral head kick KO last year, but now is the victim of another fighter’s highlight reel finish just a few months later.
