After nearly four years on the sidelines, Jessica Penne is getting set to return to action against Hannah Goldy at UFC 260 on March 27th.
Penne’s career appeared to be all but over after she was suspended for 18 months by USADA in 2017 for a positive steroid test and then was hit by another 20 month ban in 2019 before she’d even had a chance to compete again.
However, the now 38-year-old Penne hasn’t given up on her career and will now finally return to the Octagon to try to get back to winning ways, having been on a three-fight losing streak prior to her suspensions.
Penne will be taking on a fighter in Goldy who is seeking her first win for the promotion, having lost by unanimous decision against Miranda Granger in her UFC debut.
That fight was over a year-and-a-half ago, so it’s not only Penne that will have to worry about the possibility of having ‘ring rust’ on the night.
Penne vs. Goldy joins a UFC 260 event that’s set to be headlined by a heavyweight title rematch between current champion Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou, while featherweight kingpin Alexander Volkanovski goes up against Brian Ortega in the co-main event, with Tyron Woodley vs. Vicente Luque being another big fight on the main card line-up.
