In-form featherweights Hakeem Dawodu and Movsar Evloev had been adeed to the UFC 263 fight card on July 12th.
Dawodu has ran up a five-fight unbeaten run in the Octagon at 145lbs in recent years, starting with decision wins over Austin Arnett and Kyle Bochniak back in 2018.
The muay thai ace then claimed a TKO stoppage win over Yoshinori Horie and has since followed that up with narrow wins on the scorecards against Julio Arce and most recently Zubaira Tukhogov.
Despite that, Dawodu still doesn’t have a place on the featherweight rankings, but this may be his opportunity to try to rectify that as his opponent Evloev currently holds down the No.15 spot on the ladder.
In his 13-fight career to date Evloev has never been beaten, including putting together a four-fight winning streak in the UFC so far.
Evloev’s UFC career started with a trio of unanimous decision victories against Seung Woo Choi, Enrique Barzola and Mike Grundy, before defeating his most notable opponent to date, Nik Lentz, by split decision last time out.
Dawodu vs. Evloev joins a UFC 263 card that’s set to feature a flyweight title rematch between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno, though it’s not yet been confirmed whether that will serve as the evening’s headliner or not.
