Veteran campaigner Jim Miller will welcome newcomer Erick Gonzalez to the Octagon at UFC Fight Night 195 on October 16th.
The 38-year-old Miller had been scheduled to fight another debuting fighter Nikolas Motta last month at UFC Fight Night 192, but had to withdraw from the bout after testing positive for Covid-19.
Now he does finally get back into the Octagon seeking to get back to winning ways after losing his last two fights in a row on the scorecards against Vinc Pichel and Joe Solecki. In fact, Miller’s solitary win in his past four outings was a submission finish against Roosevelt Roberts in the summer of last year.
The 29-year-old ‘Ghost Pepper’ Gonzalez brings an overall 14-5 record to the Octagon and is coming off back-to-back victories, having fought much of his career to date in the Combate Americas promotion.
Miller vs. Gonzalez joins a UFC Fight Night 195 card that was certainly in need of being bolstered, with the previous main event between Miesha Tate and Ketlen Vieira having fallen through, while Holly Holm has also now pulled out of her match-up with Norma Dumont due to a knee injury, resulting in Aspen Ladd now stepping in on short-notice to headline opposite Dumont instead.
