A light-heavyweight fight between ‘The Hulk’ Ion Cutelaba and Ryan ‘Superman’ Spann has been confirmed for UFC Fight Night 203 on February 26th.
Cutelaba is coming off a unanimous decision win over Devin Clark back in September and had fought Dustin Jacoby to a split draw earlier in the year.
However, the 28-year-old had suffered both a TKO and then KO loss in back-to-back fights with Magomed Ankalaev prior to that, leaving him ranked No.15 in the division with a 5-5-1 record overall in his UFC campaign to date.
Meanwhile, Spann started his UFC run brightly with four wins in a row, but that streak was ended via a Johnny Walker KO loss, and though he rebounded with a TKO finish against Misha Cirkunov, he’s since picked up a first-round submission defeat against Anthony Smith, leaving the 30-year-old ranked No.13 heading into this match-up.
Cutelaba vs. Spann joins a UFC Fight Night 203 card that is expected to be headlined by high-level lightweight action as Islam Makhachev goes up against Beneil Dariush, while Misha Cirkunov fights Makhmud Muradov elsewhere on the card.
