A fight between in-form lightweight contenders Arman Tsarukyan and Mateusz Gamrot will headline UFC Fight Night 208 on June 25th at a location still to be confirmed.
The 25-year-old Tsarukyan first joind the UFC in 2019 and was handed a very tough debut match-up against Islam Makhachev, and though he would lose by unanimous decision he still made an impression by making it a highly competitive fight.
Since then he’s gone on an impressive run, putting together a five-fight winning streak to rise up to No.11 on the lightweight rankings.
That run began with a trio of unanimous decision wins against Olivier Aubin-Mercier, Davi Ramos and Matt Frevola, while in the past year he’s turned up the heat with ‘Performance Of The Night’ TKO victories against Christos Giagos and Joel Alvarez.
Now Tsarukyan will go up against the No.12 ranked Gamrot, who also suffered a loss in his UFC debut back in 2020, coming out on the wrong end of a split-decision verdict against Guram Kutateladze.
Brushing that aside, the 31-year-old Gamrot is now riding a three-fight winning streak after KO’ing Scott Holtzman, submitting Jeremy Stephens by Kimura and most recently TKO’ing Carlos Diego Ferreira.
Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot headlines a UFC Fight Night 208 card that also features Neil Magny vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov.
