Khamzat Chimaev made short work of Kevin Holland tonight at UFC 279, taking him down repeatedly before sinking in a d’arce choke finish.
Round One:
Chimaev instantly looks to take down Holland and gets him to the mat, but Holland scrambles wildly and manages to get back up.
Chimaev soon has him back down again and Holland’s attempts to scramble out don’t work out this time. Chimaev stands over Holland and then drops back down.
Holland able to battle his way back up and Chimaev works hard to bring him back down again in the center of the Octagon.
Chimaev looking for a submission now, sinking in a d’arce choke attempt. Holland trying to escape, but Chimaev adjusts to continue threatening with the choke. Another escape attempt from Holland and Chimaev again adjusts.
Holland just can’t get free from Chimaev’s grip and is in deep trouble here, leaving him with no option but to tap out at 2.13mins of the first round.
