The cage grab
Speaking of taking Aldo down, there was one point in the original fight where there was a blatant cage grab that prevented what would have been a big take down. The referee will probably be looking for that in this fight. It can be argued that it didn’t matter because he took him down seconds later and Aldo sprang right back up. This is MMA though, and anything can happen. There is no way to know what could have happened had he completed that takedown. Getting a takedown is a moral and confidence booster for the aggressor and frustrating for the defender. As fans let’s hope the rematch is clean and foul free, both accidental and intentional.
