Dillashaw’s Will To Win
At the heart of the matter, it may be Dillashaw’s heart that will prove the deciding factor in Barao failing to regain the belt.
The champion has an unwavering will, a fiery determination, and a unstoppable work ethic that has propelled him to the top levels of the UFC in a relatively short amount of time. His teammate Urijah Faber could not win a UFC title in three tries; Dillashaw won it in his first attempt, and against a fighter who most labeled one of the toughest pound-for-pound fighters on the planet.
That’s no small feat, so it would be foolish to think that Dillashaw will let Barao come into his hometown and take the belt from him without an all-out war.
This bout could play out like that; there’s a very good chance that Barao, with more time to prepare and the element of surprise now gone, makes this a much closer fight than the first one. But there’s a big difference in doing that and actually beating Dillashaw.
The Team Alpha Male champion may just be too good for any 135-pound fighter right now, as he’s taken former champion Dominick Cruz’s movement-heavy style to a new level. The pressure is on Barao, and those are uncharted waters for him.
