Bellator 154: Davis Vs King Mo Results

Bellator 154 took place last night and we’ve got all the results for you below.

In the main event of the evening Phil Davis was able to get the better of Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27 x2) to establish himself as the next title contender in Bellator’s light-heavyweight division.

In the early rounds of this contest it was really a case of Davis’ kicks against ‘King Mo’s’ overhand right, with not a great deal to choose between them. Davis made a big impact half-way through the third round however, connecting with a powerful right hand that stiffened Lawal’s legs, then followed up with another punch and swooping in for a well-timed takedown. Davis was then able to threaten with a kimura and then switched up to an armbar as Lawal rolled out, but it didn’t pay off and so ‘King Mo’ was able to survive to push the fight to a decision verdict that would see him come off second best (29-28, 30-27 x2).

In the co-main event, Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino’s former husband Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos couldn’t replicate her success over in the UFC back in Brazil on the same night as he lost out to Saad Awad in Bellator 154’s co-main event by TKO late in the opening round.

‘Cyborg’ went for a leg lock early in the fight after taking his opponent down, but it proved to be his undoing as Awad got in a position to land unanswered strikes, then continued the ground and pound assault when he eventually let go of the submission. Cyborg took a lot of punishment here before the ref finally stepped in at the 4.31min mark.
