Bellator 228 Results

Bellator 228 took place last night in California and we’ve got all the results for you below.

In the main event of the evening, Gegard Mousasi evened the scored with Lyoto Machida by earning a split decision victory (29-28, 28-29, 30-27).

Mousasi was careful not to play into Machida’s game by not constantly pursuing the counter-striker, and instead picking his moments to burst in with brief offensive flurries. Mousasi was also able to capitalize on a slip from the Karate stylist in the final round to get the fight to the mat and keep it there to help ensure his narrow victory on the scorecards.

Meanwhile, in the co-main event Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire retained his lightweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Juan Archuleta, while A.J. Mckee took a mere eight seconds to finish Georgi Karakhanyan with punches after badly hurting him with an overhand left.
