Bellator 255 took place last night and we’ve got all the results for you below.
In the main event Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire retained his double-champ status by defeating Emmanuel Sanchez in their featherweight title rematch.
Freire initially dropped Sanchez with a left hook and then finished him on the mat with a guillotine choke with just 28 seconds left in the opening round.
The win takes Freire to the final of the 145lb Grand-Prix, where he’ll now have a major showdown with the undefeated A.J. McKee with a $1 million prize at stake.
In the co-main event, Jason Jackson extended his current winning streak to four fights after earning a controversial unanimous decision victory over Neiman Gracie (29-28 x3).
Jackson suffered a freak injury during the first round when his eye grazed off the cage while in the midst of a scramble on the mat with Gracie and that affected his vision for much of the remainder of the bout.
Gracie had more control on top in that round though and did so again in the second, while Jackson started to outstrike him in the third and secured a long spell in top control that would ultimately prove to have been more crucial than many realized at the time when Jackson was then handed the decision victory.
Earlier Tyrell Fortune made short work of Jack May, while Usman Nurmagomedov (a cousin of Khabib) had a successful Bellator debut with a unanimous decision victory over Mike Hamel.
