Tito Ortiz Now Eyeing Rematch With Chael Sonnen

Tito Ortiz recently came out of retirement to finally avenge two losses against rival Chuck Liddell, but despite getting that monkey off his back it seems that he might not be ready to hang his gloves back up again just yet.

Instead, the 43-year-old Ortiz is now teasing a potential rematch with Chael Sonnen who he previously defeated in just 2.08mins by rear-naked choke back in January of last year.

“[Chael Sonnen], so you want me to kick your ass again?” Ortiz wrote on Twitter. “This time I’m not going to choke you out. I’m going to beat you down. Or are just infatuated by the way I live?”

Since that fight Sonnen has stayed active, defeating Wanderlei Silva and then moving onto Bellator’s heavyweight grand-prix, claiming a win over Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson before being TKO’d by Fedor Emelianenko.

Sonnen was also active on Twitter during Ortiz’s trilogy fight with Liddell, poking fun at the legendary pair.

“Both guys are sponsored by Defibrllator Companies,” Sonnen quipped at one stage, while also adding that he hoped, “the CSAC gave those guys the AARP discount on their license applications.”

And he threw in another one-liner for good measure.

“First fight where both fighters are older than the referee’s father.”

If the rematch was to take place it’s most likely to happen in the Bellator promotion given that Ortiz Vs Liddell III, which was promoted by Golden Boy, reportedly only did 40,000 PPV buys, which will surely discourage them from booking another fight with Ortiz any time soon.
