UFC 150: Fight Card

This coming Saturday night, August 11th marks the UFC’s 150th event and they are returning to the scene of the very first UFC show in Denver, Colorado back in 1993 to mark the occasion.

Headlining this one is a lightweight title rematch between Ben Henderson and Frankie Edgar.  Henderson one their first encounter by unanimous decision back in February, but it was close enough that Edgar was able to convince Dana White to give him a chance to win back the title he held for a little under two years.

A strong challenger to the main event for ‘Fight Of The Night’ will be the co-feature which pits two other talented lightweights, Donald Cerrone and Melvin Guillard against each other.

Former Strikeforce middleweight champion Jake Shields will fight at 185lbs for the first time in the UFC at the show, taking on Ed Herman who’s current having one of the best spells of his career after a three-fight unbeaten run.

Yushin Okami was originally scheduled to face Rousimar Palhares on the show, but after he pulled out with a knee injury the Japanese fighter will now face relative newcomer Buddy Roberts.

Meanwhile the main card will be kicked off by a featherweight scrap between recent TUF star Justin Lawrence who’s making his 145lb debut and Max Holloway.
