The UFC puts on it’s first ever event in South Korea this coming Saturday and we’ve got the full UFC Fight Night 79 fight card for you below.
In the main event of the evening two former lightweights look to continue to establish themselves in the welterweight ranks as Ben Henderson takes on late replacement Jorge Masvidal who was originally suppored to fight in the co-main event.
With Masvidal moving up to fight Henderson on short notice, No.7 ranked welterweight Dong Hyun Kim now has to make do with fighting up and comer Dominic Waters who lost his UFC debut earlier this year. (It’s also worth noting to avoid any confusion that there is another fighter named Dong Hyun Him competing in the prelims).
Now 40 years-old, Yoshihiro Akiyama once again gets wheeled out for an Asian card following over a year out of action, this time taking on Alberto Mina, a Brazilian who’s 1-0 in the promotion so far.
Opening up the main card, South Korea’s own Doo Ho Choi looks to build on a TKO win in his first UFC bout when he takes on the heavy handed Sam Sicilia.
