Alex Pereira retained his light-heavyweight title in the main event of UFC 300 tonight by KO’ing Jamaha Hill in the opening round.
Round One:
The light-heavyweight title headliner is underway in Las Vegas!
Calf kick for Pereira straight away. Now a lighter leg kick from Hill. Pereira lands his again and Hill connects with one to the inside of the calf.
Pereira misses on a couple of low kicks. Body punch now for Pereira. A body kick lands for him and a punch in return from Hill lands too.
Leg kick for Hill and one in return from Pereira. Grazing front kick to the body from Hill. Body punch again for Pereira and blocks a head kick attempt from Hill.
Calf kicks for Pereira. Hill gets his off too. Hill lands a body punch. Now a body kick from him and it might have strayed to the groin, but when the ref tries to intervene Pereira just palms him away and keeps fighting!
Pereira with a left hook and Hill collapses backwards onto the canvas! Pereira follows up with rapid-fire left hands on the mat and that it, the fight is over, Pereira successfully defends his title by KO at 3.14mins of the opening round.
