A light-heavyweight fight between Alexander Gustafsson and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira is rumored to have been targeted for UFC Fight Night 100’s headline attraction in Brazil on November 19th.

That’s the word according to Brazilian site Combate, who first reported that the bout was in the works at the weekend.

Gustafsson got back on track with a unanimous decision win over Jan Blachowitcz earlier this month, snapping back-to-back losses to Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson prior to that.

That leaves him ranked No.2 in the division, but truth be told it wasn’t the most sparkling performance from the Swede, and so rather than getting fasttracked back towards title contention, it seems that the UFC are taking a more measure approach.

As such, he’ll now face the No.9 ranked Nogueira, who is in a similar position to ‘The Mauler’ in that he’s coming off a win over Pat Cummins, following two losses against Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua and Anthony Johnson.

Gustafsson Vs Lil Nog is the only bout so far attached to the historic UFC Fight Night 100 card, which comes some 11 years after the first event in the ‘Fight Night’ series aired back in August of 2005, with a bout between Nate Marquardt and Ivan Salaverry headlining the show on that occasion.
