Allan Nascimento Beats Jake Hadley By Unanimous Decision At UFC On ESPN 36

Allan Nascimento emerged a convincing winner on the scorecards tonight at UFC On ESPN 36 after outgrappling Jake Hadley for much of the fight.

Round One:

Solid body kick from Nascimento. Jab for Hadley. Leg kicks from Nascimento. A couple of punches land upstairs from Hadley.

Hadley with a body kick, but Nascimento catches it and brings him down to the mat. Nascimento in Hadley’s full guard.

Hadley sets up an omaplata nicely to sweep on top, but Nascimento is looking for a leg lock as he does so. Hadley lands a punch from this somewhat awkward position. Hadley attempts to take the back, but his leg is still trapped. Nascimento falls back working on the ankle lock, then uses that to get back on top himself.

Two minutes to go in the round. Nascimento settles back into Hadley’s full guard. Nascimento patient but then attempts to move up to full mount. Hadley prevents that and Nascimento looks to grind in a few elbows in the final seconds, but Hadley manages to find space and drive back up to his feet.

Round Two:

Nascimento with kicks and a jumping knee to the body as he starts the second round aggressively. Hadley starts to back him up, but Nascimento lands a kick and then secures another takedown in the center of the Octagon.

Nascimento in half-guard for now, but Hadley brings him back to full guard. Nascimento back to half-guard now. He lands a few light elbow strikes. Back to full guard again as we reach the final two minutes of the round.

Nascimento continuing to try to get to half-guard and beyond, but Hadley continues to have success getting him back to full guard, but not able to do much else.

They move over to the cage and Hadley is able to get back to his feet and turns Nascimento into the cage. Nascimento lands a knee and turns back into him as the round ends.

Round Three:

Jumping head kick from Nascimento misses. Hadley punches and Nascimento continues to kick. Hadley pounces on a standing guillotine choke and then uses that to bring him down.

Now it’s Hadley working from half-guard. Nascimento attempting to work for a leg lock as Hadley tries to land a few blows.

Hadley trying to set up a submission, but then looks to work to the back instead. There’s a scramble and Hadley tries to get his hooks in, but Nascimento breaks free and gets on top and is quickly working for a d’arce choke.

He gives up on the submission, but is back in Hadley’s full guard. Nascimento stands over Hadley and then drops back down with Hadley turtling up now.

Hadley gets to one knee and then manages to stand. Nascimento with a kick. Hadley looking to punch and Nascimento drives in for a takedown, but Hadley grabs onto a guillotine and gets on top. Nascimento still in the choke, but manages to roll on top and break free of that.

Nascimento with ground and pound and then spends the last few seconds securing his position on top.

Decision:

A convincing win for Nascimento then as he controls the majority of the grappling exchanges to earn himself a unanimous decision victory (30-27 x3).
